The company’s hope is to increase its production and provide its innovative aerospace materials even more efficiently.
Innovate Alabama awarded NeXolve Holding Company a grant to further the development of new material for polymer films used in space.
The Innovate Alabama grant allows NeXolve to capitalize on the material development results from their Phase II SBIR and enhance their manufacturing capabilities in North Alabama. The new material has already shown impressive results, proving major improvements to polymer films that are used in space for thermal control, deployable antennae, solar arrays, and other applications.
“We are incredibly thankful for the Innovate Alabama Grant. This grant will be used to accelerate and continue the growth of our advanced materials product line. This funding will allow us to focus on improving our materials offerings and developing the infrastructure needed to continue and accelerate this growth,” said Jim Moore, NeXolve President.
The innovative material was initially developed in 2018 under the Federal Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR). This grant enables the development of several different versions of the material and will initiate improvements for NeXolve’s manufacturing capabilities. The company’s hope is to increase its production and provide its innovative aerospace materials even more efficiently.
“The purpose of the Innovate Alabama Supplemental Grant Program is to create opportunity for local innovators and entrepreneurs by providing capital that supports their business goals and advances our collective mission to make Alabama a premier destination for innovation and technology. We are inspired by the tenacity of each grant recipient and proud to invest in our top-talent right at home, where the impact is tenfold,” said Alabama Finance Director Bill Poole, Innovate Alabama chair.
